1，动词ing形式
如:
I want to go shopping.
I want to go swimming.
I want to go fishing.
2，want后还可以跟动词不定式，want to后面的动词用动词原形形式。固定短语是want to do sth，表示想要做某事。
例句:
I didn't want to go to a large university.我当时不想去大的综合性大学读书
It is not clear what they want us to do.我们不肯定他们要我们做什么。
It's only human to want the best for your children.为自己的孩子谋求最好的'条件是人之常情。
I don't want to go against your will我不想违背您的意愿。
3、want sb. to do.sth.其中的 sb.是 want 的宾语，是主语需要这个宾语做某事。
如:
我觉得让我妈妈喝点水。I want my mother todrink some water.
我觉得让你吃一个苹果。I want you to eat an apple.
我觉得要我的老师买两本书。
I want myteacher to buy two books.
