后边跟介词或者动词ing，例如：

1、The bus stopped and four people got on.公共汽车停下来，四个人上了车。

2、The train stopped at 6 o’clock.火车在六点停下来了。

3、They stopped playing when it rained. 下雨时他们停止了玩耍。

4、Hearing the ring，he stopped to open the door.听到铃声，他停下来去开门了。
