复合形容词是由两个或两个以上的单词组成的，具有形容词性质的词。单词之间一般有连字符“-”连接起来。一般只能做定语，不能做表语。
它的结构有：
1、形容词+形容词：red-hot炽热的，dark-blue深蓝的
It is dark-blue color.它是深蓝色的。
2、形容词+现在分词：good-looking好看的，easy-going随和的
She is a good-looking girl.她是一个好看的女孩。
3、副词+现在分词：hard-working勤劳的，fast-moving快速转动的
I am a hard-working boy.我一个很勤劳的男孩。
4、名词+形容词：life-long终生的，world-famous世界闻名的
It is a world-famous building.这是一座世界著名的建筑。
5、名词+现在分词：peace-loving爱好和平的，fun-loving爱开玩笑的
They are peace-loving people.他们是爱好和平的人。
6、名词+过去分词：snow-covered白雪覆盖的，hand-made手工的
The country is a snow-covered place.这个国家是一个白雪覆盖的地方。
7、形容词+名词-ed：kind-hearted好心的，white-haired白发的
You are a kind-hearted man.你是个善良的人。
8、数词+名词 + ed：four-storeyed 4层楼的，three-legged 3条腿的
It's a four-storeyed building.这是一栋四层楼的建筑。
9、数词+名词（名词用单数）+（形容词）：ten-year 10年的，two-man两人的
She is a three-year-old girl.她是一个三岁的女孩。
